This program brings back to life a world that has disappeared: the old neighborhood of Les Halles and its spectacular covered market, revived, as it were, through interviews with people who recount tales of their trade, old traditions, stories about how the market was used, and other little known or barely remembered facts. Along with this 19th-century world that thrived in the underbelly of Paris, we get to meet Dede the butcher, Irene the greengrocer, and Edouard, the main man in the market.
